WILL
MAKES IT FOUR IN A ROW
Will
Banister continues with his
vice-like grip at the top of the
Hotdisc chart for a fourth week. Will's debut single "Turn Her On
To Country" has
attracted great interest from the DJs,
many of whom are going to be
watching with interest to see how he
does at Wembley later this month.
Marlee
Scott and Vince Gill hold at the
runner-up position with David
Wood not far behind with the very original
song "My Dash" at the number
3 position. Clive John is up to 4
with a rare cover version for the
songwriter. "City Of New Orleans" is
taken from one of two albums
released in tribute to Johnny Cash.
Clive fronts the theatrical "Johnny
Cash Roadshow" and this is from it.
He also hangs on to the number 1
position in the British
& Irish Independent Top 10 list.
Wesley
Parker has his biggest hit to date
with "Montana Sky" (up 1
to 5) while Welshman Bo
Walton climbs two notches to land at
6 this week with "Wild At Heart."
The
biggest climber in the Top 40 this
week is young Liana Conway's song "Callin'
You Baby" which shoots from 32 to 21
in one bound. Royal Wade Kimes'
"Cold Country" also has a good week,
leaping from 16 to 9. Malta's Marty
Rivers is also doing well with a
three place rise into the top 10 at
number 8.
Check out our two chart programmes
currently on air. The
live transmission times for these shows are as follows:
Sundays
at 12 Noon - CMR Nashville
Radio - Hotdisc Top 40 Show
Mondays
at 8pm - UKCountryRadio.com - Hotdisc British & Irish Top 10 Show
The Hotdisc charts are compiled from DJs and industry professionals' ratings
of songs currently being promoted on the Rush Released CD. They are not airplay charts, as airplay charts cannot
work in Europe as there are no terrestrial country stations in this area. The hundreds of country shows are likely
to play a particular song only twice at most in a three month period, therefore rendering airplay charts insignificant
in Europe. It works well in America where there are plenty of non-stop country stations but it cannot work here.
The Hotdisc charts are therefore put together weekly using ratings supplied
by DJs who give scores to every song on the last three months' editions of Rush Released. The scores are totalled
up and averaged out per week to give an accurate guide to the songs which are being championed by the industry.
The aim is to showcase the songs which the DJs and media people are pinpointing as top quality songs, which is
a very useful exercise, particularly to all our clients and DJs as it is free of politics, hype and rigging and
done on merit!
